The
Rainbow Stores, sponsored by the V.
Traverso Co., wholesale grocers, gave
their fourth annual picnic on Saturday,
June 25. Seven thousand people were
there-grocers, their families, their
customers, the manufacturers, their
families, and "everybody."
Enjoy
Fun
They cam from as far as San Rafael
on the north, and Monterey on the
south_7000 people-to enjoy just about
the finest picnic people ever held
by any grocery organization on the
Pacific coast at any time in our remembrance.
In the morning a ball game was enjoyed
in which the grocers carried off the
"honors" with a 26-10 score,
and in the afternoon the grocers again
beat the manufacturers in the tug-of-war,
a regular event at the annual picnic.
Music Furnished
Many games and races were enjoyed
by young and old and a first class
orchestra, through the courtesy of
the California Baking Co., furnished
dance music all the afternoon. |
